THE TOPIC OF SALAT AND IMSAK TIMES
THE TOPIC OF SALAT AND IMSAK TIMES
Dear readers; the times of Salat stated in this calendar is based on the Ijtihad of the Hanafi School of thought. When working out the times of Salat, astronomical, climatological, and geological factors like latitude, longitude, time zone, altitude, and the dimension of the earth is considered. In order to accurately detect the time of a Salat in a location, not only the geometry but also Fiqh measurements are factored in. Consequently, the scholars have set certain measurements. These measurements are called Tamkin. Tamkin is not regarded as a precaution but it is more so regarded as a mandatory amendment. Therefore following a Salat time with disregard to Tamkin is unfavourable.
The Tamkin times set by the Fazilet calendar have been in line with the Islamic world for centuries, and the Islamic Institution of Turkey – Diyanet – have also regarded these times until 1982.
For this reason, we strongly recommend Muslims to perform in line with the times stated in the Fazilet calendar, along with paying attention to praying in time and not delaying till the last minute, to also follow the times on the calendar while fasting, and finally to pray Salat al Fajr 20 minutes into the stated Imsak time of that day.
For detailed information, refer to the explanations post 31 December.
The Salat to be performed in the 27th night of Sha’ban:
It is advised to pray 2 Rak’ah Shukr Salat between Maghrib and Ish’a on the 27th night of Sha’ban.
The Niyyah is as followed: ‘O Rab, You have reached me to the last days of the month of Rasulullah. Bless this holy month as a Shafaat and witness upon me’. After the Salat, the following is to be recited:
70 times Istigfar Shareef: ‘Astaghfirullah al azeem ve etuubu ilayk.’ And 100 times the following Salawat: “Allahumma salli ala ruh-i Muhammadin fil-arwah wa salli ala jasad-i Muhammadin fil-ajsad wa salli ala gabr-i Muhammadin fi l-kubur.”
Hadis:Rasulullah (s.a.w) said: “A person who feeds a hungry believer, will be fed by Allah (in Qiyamah) from the fruits of heaven.” (Hadith Shareef, Sunan Tirmidhi)
